[#3825853]

I just twisted the tab on my 2 ride (Trail debris) 10spd rear mear mech(M789)which connects it to the rear drop out.Is it possible to buy a replacement tab or is it new mech time again.(managed to do the same thing 2 weeks ago).
I have checked shimano spares list and can't find anything.
I'm off to Wales on Thursday and need to sort it one or another.

part number here:

might be able to find an online seller by googling it or see if your LBS can order you one.

Looks like the same part as other shadow mechs including Deore, SLX and older 9 speed ones so should be easy to get one.

I have tried pinching that part off my rear mech on my hard tail but the tab is much narrower so it maybe specific to the actial model. (m780)

Get a Saint RD next time, that bracket is twice as thick on the Saint, and I'd challenge anyone to twist it. Mind you, weakest link and all that, something else will just give instead...

PS: the 2013 Shimano lineup is doing away with that bracket, and mounting direct to a swept back derailleur hanger direct mount RD , so they must have realised its a weak link. Not much help to you before Thursday tho'

(Edit: just realised you're 10 speed, and Saint is only available in 9speed, for now.)

ahh sorry wasn't paying attention and looked for a different XT one.

Is this one more like yours?

Looks thicker but is M780.

Petra have it here: http://www.petracycles.co.uk/rdm780-baxle-assembly-p-89749.html

Madison is the distributor, and won't sell direct to the public. You need to order it through your LBS, and how long it takes them to get it in usually depends on their normal ordering/delivery cycles. If you want them to rush a one-off order for you, you may have to pay extra...

Andyl it has the same part number?

Don't Madison send out Shimano spares individually? First class?

I can send you an old rear mech minus jockey wheels for £7 posted.

It's a 10 speed one but I bent the cage
