[#6145063]

Could do with a new front derailleur to work with ST5600 shifters (not 5601 or 5603).

Struggling to locate an FD5600 since they're pretty old now, but plenty of 5700's around or even 6700's.

I know they are not supposed to be compatible, but would either of these work okay?

5700 worked fine here when I was running 6600 shifters.

I thought it was only brake pull that changed between x600 and x700.

Sure I read something about the change in cable routing making the difference between 5600 and 5/6700.

Sounds plausible but wondering what the real world experiences are.

Only £20 for a 5700, I'll give it a go...

They are different but work more than well enough. I am now using 5700 shifters and performance is improved but was fine before with the 6600 shifters.

nope, front mech was tweaked slightly too. I use my 5700 shifters with 5600 and a microshift front mech with no problems at all, I highly suspect you'll be ok running a 5700 mech with 5600 shifters.

ST5600's are running fine, I'd love to snap up some 5700's if the prices drop with 5800 out...but priority is sorting out a summer build.
