[#2710251]

Got a pair of these a couple of months ago, mostly done rides of up to 25 miles in them, used them yesterday for the Dyfi Enduro and after about 30 miles was really starting to suffer with hot spots caused by feeling the pedal through the balls of my feet.

Never had that with clipless cycling shoes before, bit disappointing considering how much the damn things cost.

Anyone else had this experience? Got the WRT coming up at the end of the month, don't fancy the discomfort after 40 miles or so, is this a warrenty job?

I've been really disappointed with the feeble insoles in my otherwise excellent MP66s. The balls of my feet were in agony by the bottom of the MacAvalanche course. I reckon I'll just buy some nice padded insoles.

What pedals are you using? If it's something like Eggbeaters or Shimano 520/540s then he lack of platform and the "bendy" walking sole can cause this problem. Consider something like a CB Candy or the new Shimano XTR trail pedal instead as they have a bit of platform/cage to take some of the weight/pressure.

Is this the first spd boot you've ever used? If so, it be that you need some varus or valgus tilt to make the foot position more natural. Or perhaps a metatarsal button just behind the ball of the foot could help.

I'm using time atac aliums, as I have been for 10 years. These are the sixth pair of clipless compatible shoes I've had, none have every exhibited this problem. I've had a cheap pair of shimano shoes, some Specilized Sport shoes that are now about 6 years old and still going strong, some Specialized Trail 110s (miss them) and a pair of winter boots that are a bit crap but didn't have this problem.

Bit miffed if I have to spend more money on different pedals after these things cost me £120, might see if Chainreaction will take them back.
