Evening, hopefully this will be an easy question.

I need to know which brake hose my M8120’s have.

I’ve botched hose shortening and I’m going to need to buy a hose and olive set, but I don’t know whether I need 2.3mm (brass) or 2.1mm (SS) without taking it all apart again. The hose, helpfully, only says ‘Shimano High Power Hose’ on it. Afaik the Olive truly is universal... ?

It's SM-BH90-SBM.

I tried to find out via Shimano what the difference was between SM-BH90-SBM & the SM-BH90-SB I had was and got the following answer:

I have checked in with our tech team on this and can confirm that there is a difference in the banjo between the SB and SBM that allows for greater heat dissipation.
If you are using the 2 piston caliper then either the SB or SBM hose will be suitable
If you are using the 4 piston caliper then please only use the SBM hose.

However this seems a little odd as some Shimano 4 pots use straight connections (so no banjo).

The OP isn't changing hose, just shortening, which is done at the lever end so the connection to the caliper is irrelevant.

Fair enough but "...buy a hose and olive set" sounds like the whole caboodle.
