Just wondering if the rapid-fire shifters are any good and also whether they are an easy swap on a bike.
I currently have bog standard Deore shifters but quite like the idea of rapid-fire. I assume I could have these and keep the current rear mechs.

Assuming you're talking of recent Deore(and 9sp), not the original thumbies.If so, and it's seperate shifters/brakes we're talking about, then it's a simple swap, but you won't notice a major difference between the two.We really need a bit more info about what you've got as it's not making total sense to me,Deore and XT both being rapidfire anyway.If it's dual control you mean, then it's a bit more involved with either brake hose swap/bleed or total hydraulic brake fitment.
