Could anyone tell me if Shimano freehub bodies are hub specific or if i can take the one off of my spare wheel (Tiagra hub) and put it on to a 105 hub?

If it helps neither are the newer series of either groupset, 4500 and 5600 respectively.

Thanks.

They tend to be hub specific even if the difference is only a few mm.
You can sometimes get away with swopping seals, spacers etc. to use a cheap hub to replace a groupset specific one but won't last as long.[ personal experience]

What FOG said, IME you can swap them if you've a few spare spacers of varying size to adjust the spacing afterwards, but there was definately a step up in longjevity with the more expensive ones.

Worth a go, but sealing arrangements can differ (just swap the cone if so).
