2016 Cannondale mountain bikes seem to come with shimano rear flat mount now and then use a flat to post adaptor mount and spec'd to 160mm post mount calipers.
I want to use a 180mm rear disc, googled and you don't seem to be able to get 180mm rear flat to post adaptors. Unless anybody can find one?
If I was to use the supplied 160mm mount adaptor and added this http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/mobile/shimano-adapter-for-flat-mount-caliper-to-road-flat-frame-mount-rear-160mm-prod40378/ would that give me the extra 20mm clearance I need? I know hope used to make +20mm mounts for IS calipers which worked in a slimilar way.

I thought 140mm was the standard and you could only go to a maximum 160mm with an adapter. Having said that, I was only really aware of them coming out for road bikes. I haven't seen any MTBs with them yet.
Yep I think your right, that's why I thought use two adaptors get the extra 20mm
Just use a normal post mount 180 fork adaptor, as long as it fits in the frame (presume it's inside the rear triangle).
Don't think you understand what a flat mount to post mount adaptor is?
I'd just run a 160mm rotor and see how you get on. There's a school of thought that you don't need more on the rear.

I meant on top of the flat to post mount adaptor they supply. As I said, only reason it won't work is if there is physically not enough space. That might possibly be an issue with your suggestion of the flat mount +20 adaptor too.
