I have x9 cranks with Chris King bb. Is there an adapter to allow me to use Shimano cranks with my existing BB?

There will be a sram gxp adaptor in your bb.Just remove that.

I was under the impression that Sram spindle was wider than Shimano, so do I not need to add a spacer rather than take one away?

king BB should have include a kit like this, I've got 2x king BB's and running XX1 cranks in both with the kit

Anything wrong with the SRAM's much prefer the fitting and the detachable spider/direct mount is great.
