My less than 4 month old M6000 rear mech has a small amount of play in the cage. It will move enough to allow the chain to hit the stay when on the smaller cogs. However beyond that small movement the clutch appears to hold it .. it doesn't seem like the clutch itself is at fault.
I've taken it out. The clutch adjustment / screw assembly seems intact. Cleaned it, tightened - still the same.
Any thoughts / suggestions?

Chain too short?
No .. chain length set according to Shimano suggestions. Using a 32 chainring / 11-42 cassette .. not sure I'd want the mech going any further when on the 42.
