I have a session in the Velodrome coming up and have been told that the hire bikes use Look padals (non keo) type anyone know whether normal shimano road will fit?
No they won't.
WHy not just take your pedals with you as well?
I only found this out myself the other day when a mate and I wanted to swap bikes.
Is it because Look still has a patent on the binding mechanism?
They all have different fitting mechanisms. Guessing it's more to do with them wanting people to buy all their kit rather than patent issues.
Decathlon do Look cleats for c.£10 if you want to use your own shoes. Glasgow (if a different one best check with them first) velodrome certainly do hire shoes - included in the cost of some sessions ie accreditation.
Ok guys thanks may put on a wanted as my mate needs some to, failing that they say to use good old traps.
