Just got a pair of crossrides for my son. It comes with a shimano--6-bolt converter. However, the ring with the 6 bolts on it which slides onto the hub has little steel plugs in each of the 6 holes (presumably to keep them clean etc). There is no obvious way of removing them. At first i thought they would simply be screwed out with a small hex spanner, but the indent is entirely smooth.
Any ideas how to remove them? thanks.

Aren't those what hold the rotor on? You pop the rotor onto the pegs and then you will have a ring to lock it on.
