Running SLX brakes with the split pin thingies, but it appears the caliper is ready for a threaded retention pin a'la XT.
Will other brands work? Which? If not, where can I find a Shimano one?

The threaded XT retainer pin for the current calliper is part number 8JZ 9801 and is available from any bike shop with a Madison account. SRP £1.99 each.
