[#1861968]

Currently on my steed I have shimano stuff, Xt shadow rear mech with xt shifters. (All within 2-3 months old)

I'm getting a new bike tomorrow (second hand) that has Sram x0 rear mech (very pretty) and x9 shifters.

So q1. As I like the xt shifters more than the sram, will the x0 mech work ok (to its full potential) with xt shifters or would I be better switching over my xt shadow.

and q2 My current bike also has Hope mono m4's and I’d be looking to switch them for the elixar 5's that are on the new stead and then sell the 5's. But they have that bar tidy matchmaker bracket thing, it would be easier selling the brakes and shifters separate so where can I get hold of the original bracket parts?

thanks for looking guys and gals

Dave

I know the answers but you said "steed".

Question 1.

I think you'll find that the Sram X0 mech works on a different actuation ratio to the XT which means the XO mech definately won't work to it's full potential with the Shimano shifters.

The sram is 1:1 ratio, can't remember the Shiamno details but I do know there is a difference that means you can't mix them.

Question 2.
Nothing of value to contribute.

Points and laughs - you said "steed"
(and even misspelt it second time...)

It should be 'Dandyhorse'

anyway 1. No it won't work 2. Classifieds on here or your local SRAM dealer if they are available.

So i guess its the age old question. do I stick with sram x0 x9 or change to xt?

Either change the new bike to all XT or stick with what you have. It'll make no real difference out on the trail, will it?
