I'm trying to fit gears to my SS HT. I bought a Shimano SL-M5100 11 speed shifter, and I've BL-M7100 brakes.
The shifter doesn't have its own bar clamp, so what do I need to attach it to the brakes (assuming they do attach)?

I also have this adaptor thing which I think came with the shifter, but can't for the life of me work out how it helps with what I've got ...
Or is it just a case of buying a clamp for the shifter, something like this?

I think you have an iSpec II shifter but iSpec EV brakes. Unfortunately they are not compatible.
This is outside of my range of knowledge, but it's possible that this might work -

Actually, I think that that adapter I mentioned might be the wrong way around, sorry.
Id just use the shifter bar clamp and sack of Shimano's confusing range of I spec that seems to change with every generation.
Ignore the adapter doohickey arm, that's an ISpec II part.
Brakes are definitely ISpec EV. Shifter looks like it is - the non-window 5100 definitely is. The part I cannot see in the image looks a bit like this and is a nut that rides in the Ispec EV brake mount, and that your shifter screws into.
