My Pitch is running 2x9 and im wanting to upgrade the shifters from x5 to xo, do i need 2x9 specific shifters or will 3x9 work and do the same job?
Rear mech is x9 front is slx incase thets important.

3x9 is fine. you just set the limit screws on the front mech to stop you shifting to '3'.
