Hi just a quick question...
Got a new frame, gunna put a cups in the headtube. Should the headtube the shaved before the cups go in or doesn't it matter?
What is the reason for shaving the headtubes?

Yes but use an old school razor only.

facing - make sure the ends are totally flat and parallel
reaming - taking out some material from the inside diameter if it's too tight or full of rough bits/warf etc (v rarely done on headtubes ?)
neither generally necessaary IMO
(must admit, opened the thread with some trpidation 😯 )

shaved = faced
makes the faces at the end of the tube parallel which means the bearings will be aligned and will last longer.
I've never bothered.
