Ritchey classic stem - the pinch bolts around the steerer leave quite a bit of the end of the bolt sticking out, which is catching on my inner knees and cutting me up a bit.
Tried filling as much as I dare, dont want to not be able to remove the bolts - any other ideas?
Would it be wise to use shorter bolts from somewhere?

Take the bolts out, screw on a nut, cut the bolt to length with a hacksaw and then wind the nut off to clean up the thread, tidy it up with a file and refit..

I had this exact thing last week on a new Ritchey WCS 4 axis stem. I removed the screws and hacksawed off the end couple of threads, filed the rough edges and checked the threads on a nut rather than checking it on the stem's threads.
Now spot on, no more cut knees.
