I'm looking for a trail bike to compliment my SX Trail that I want to resign to purely DH duties. I've seen SH ST4 for sale that looks pretty good.
What are they like? Worth a punt?
When you say ST4 I think Orange ST4, does SH mean second hand?
If you're referring to an Orange ST4 then they're nice bikes, I own one and love it. For a short travel bike it copes well and it never feels like it has such short travel, lots of fun to blast through singletrack and supremely comfortable for everyday jaunts out.

Yes, the Orange ST4, as it says in the title.
Thanks for the info. So they can cope with being thrown around a bit can they?
there was another ST4 thread on here earlier today. I think the early ones were prone to snapping.
Yeah, I posted in that one but must have had my invisibility cloak on ๐
I had one, loved it but it was a bit short for me and gave me back ache, got a 20" Five instead.
Mine was an older one but I didn't snap it!
I bought mine as I thought it was long! As per previous thread, first one lots of fun but flawed. Second one, a really well sorted trail bike with enough travel for most things and very poppy/involving. Only sold mine as I really fancied something else after a couple of years of ownership.
The 2010 ones (with the different shock position) don't have issues as far as I know. If you get an older one, make sure it's got the beefed up swing arm.
I only had a couple of hours on one, which wasn't quite enough to snap it ๐ I thought it was alright, but in the end I didn't think it climbed particularly well, and it wasn't amazing going downwards either. Was quite disappointed, I really wanted to like it. But I ended up filing it with the Camber under Neither One Thing Nor T'other.
