Enjoyed the singletrack on the Howgills STW ride a few weeks back so much that we thought we would do the route in this months mag after work last night.
Set off from Settle up to Murthwaite Park and then back via the singletrack into Settle. (14.5 miles) as Simon wrote in his thread about the Calf, the weather was fantastic and the views stunning.
The bloody midges however were out in swarms especially around the river crossings.
Anybody ridden down Fell end onto the A683? It says 'ford' on the map, when it's actually a bloddy river you ride ALONG!!!
Here is Toby near the end of it
I came to a bit of a halt here
Paul on the drop to the river crossing
and falling off 10 secs later
dry and very fast singletrack
and another view
the rest are here
