Got some new shoes and spd pedals for xmas. Have been running spds for a while now and am happy with the position of the cleats along the length of the foot but what position should they be in width ways? Should I run them out slightly to avoid crank rub or a central position on the foot? Cheers
I matched my new cleats as best I could on my new shoes to my old, but still had to tweak them a little as the degree at which my ankle was at made it ache and thats all I could think of that was causing it, minor adjustment and it's all sorted and comfy now. I would say mine are positioned more to the inside of the shoe therefore moving my foot out away from the crank.
Back to OP I guess is put them where you think and see how you go.
