Anyone doing SES at Pitfichie this weekend? I’m entered into the 80, but smacked my ribs a month ago and haven’t ridden much since. Currently in bed with a fever and not sure I’ve two days riding in me. Don’t know the trails at all and missed a guided ride there when I was injured. Course details released and looks like two areas of stages grouped together. If I’d to pick one area to ride on Saturday, which should it be?

Not racing but it’s my local hill. The trails are not far apart. I’d ride them all once if I could. You can just push up 5 and 6 to save the savage fire road climb round.

Stage 4 is a bit of a slog to get to. You could give that a swerve if you want to save some energy. It’s not a trail I ever really ride but from memory it’s pretty narrow, potentially sloppy and relatively straight forward.

The other hill that the first 3 stages are on is a not too bad to go up a few times.

The hill that stages 5 and 6 are on was really badly affected by storm Arwen so there’s been lots of work done there on the trails I believe.

Lots of rocks and roots everywhere.
