I'mn quite happy to service a rockshox rearshock, including the damper side, and happy doing an air can service on fox, but i've never got into the damper.

My main concern is that most dampers come nitrogen charged, the rockshox ones you can recharge just using a shock pump and air, if you don't happen to have the mechanism to deliver the right pressure of nitrogen back in (like most, I imagine).

Is it the same with Fox, or does it need to be nitrogen? I can only find air can service guides in my (not very long) searches.

Which shock?
Air is ok. On some shocks you need a needle fitting to charge them

You need a needle charging system for those.

ok, cheers. Not a home job then.

I#ll likely go for a rockshox then as I do prefer servicing stuff myself.
