Was cleaning them up at the weekend and had the lowers off to clean inside and I was wondering " what if I put them in the dishwasher?".

Anyone think this would work/ be safe/ destroy them (I wouldn't care)?

Aye go for it. just give them a good rinse and dry when you are finished

Yea just the lowers, not sure they would fit but it would def get them clean inside, might destroy the seals though.

Don't do it! Cheap forks are often greased with cheap grease high in volatiles. This will certainly stink and perhaps could damage rubber in the seals of the washer. Just clean it out with white spirit etc and then regrease.

People do it, usually cassettes or derailleurs. However the grease in cheap forks is probably more stinky than chain oil.
