[Closed] Servicing a King headset?

heatset is feeling a bit gritty on the lower race now. For most carttridge bearing stuff I pop the CB out and remove the seals and then leave it in a jar of degreaser for a day or so before drying and regreasing.

never had a King HS apart, so is it as simple as drifting the whole cartridge bearing out and doing the above, or do I have to leave the bearing inplace and just try to clean it as best I can??

any help appreciated

Leave it in place.

Remove the snapring and seal.

Spray with GT85 and blow out with an airgun.

Force grease back into the clean bearing and re fit the seal and snapring.

cheers Stu, I'll have a go at it.

don't want to leave it to long, as one lad I ride with left his without servicing until it locked solid on a corner and he rode straight into a wall ๐Ÿ™‚
