Love the look and the theory behind it but how does it ride? Would prefer real world experiences..cheers

The shapeshifter part of the design seems to fail, stick, give up etc....there are plenty of posts on here about it.

It would be bottom of my 160mm bikes list because of that alone.

Great bike handles every thing you could through at it, shapeshifter works well makes climbing better.

I am on my 3rd shapeshifter so they do fail but are replaced in a few days no questions asked. The good thing is if it goes it will stick in dh mode so you can still use the bike till the replacement arrives.

The thing that is really starting to get to me is the way it goes through lower pivot bearings I am on my 3rd set and it looks like they are starting to go. Not sure what's going on but my mate has had the same problem, my bike is only 9 months old so it's not looking good.

The bike is ridden 3-4 times a week in all weathers and the lower bearings have no extra protection other than the standard rubber seals.

The choice is yours, still a great bike to ride.

It's been on my lust list - the shapeshifter thing appeals to my geekery.

But Stu661's experience is pretty much exactly what I foresaw as the outcome after reading reviews. A shame.

I like mine. Haven't had any problems with it so far, and it's definitely the fastest bike I've owned. It just feels really nice, and the Shapeshifter is lovely. In DH mode (I.e. basically the same geometry as every other 160mm bike) it's a bit of a pig to climb anything tech and it's hard work on longer rides. But the Shapeshifter really makes a big difference. It sounds like it might perhaps be a bit unreliable but I can't vouch for that at all. Apparently they have made some changes to the Shapeshifter hardware in the last couple of months.

You've seen the 2015 model sale, right? The 2016 range seems to have a lesser spec and a higher price.
