not sure on this one, so before going straight to classifieds looking for thoughts.

I have a 2013 Reba solo air which has seen best part of 3 yrs use on my Soul, with annual servicing by TF Tuned. It has, in last 2 months failed twice, with the air moving into the negative spring and making it very stiff. First time it went to TF tuned and they wondered about air shaft, but reckoned it would be fixed by some seal replacement. It failed again after a few rides and is now back with TF Tuned. I had to buy a new fork as needed one quickly for current week away in Cairngorms. TF have inspected it and are now replacing air shaft as there is some barely visible crazing on it.

Now I have a new fork on the bike, I have no use for this, but will have it back, fixed with new air shaft.

Keen to sell it, but no idea on value given it has had some issues. It is a 26 inch, 120 travel, Maxle lite, with decent length steerer, and in good nick. I'd have had no hesitation putting on classifieds at around £130 or so if it hadn't had these issues.

So, sell with full details, or ebay - what's best and likely value ?

If it were me, details and eBay no reserve. Details because I'd not want some skint rider losing out on the joy of riding because he bought a duff fork!

Yeah, I'd not like that either, although having just paid out £40 for new air shaft, fitting etc would hope it's not duff !

If it goes on classifieds this thread will be in my history too, which I would want.

If tf tuned have fixed it then just sell it with a picture of the repair sheet.

I'd rather buy a pair of forks that have just come back from a professional service than any other 2nd hand fork with nothing.

i had some rebas with a groove worn in the steerer. (long time ago)

I listed them here, described honsestly, at 25% lower than ebay's average completed value.I had people queuing up.

just be honest, and take £100 (assuming they are worth your £130)

kind of awkward. Other option is to sell them as spares or repairs, folk seem to fight quite hard over bargains there that you *might* achieve close to the intended price anyway.

So you had a faulty fork which has been professionally repaired using genuine manufacturer's parts and are now fully functional.
If someone has a problem with that then they're idiots. Total non issue and as a buyer I wouldn't be concerned at all.
Declare it if you must on e-bay, in fact it may count as a positive.

For prices, just compare it to similar forks on e-bay and see what they go for.

I sold a frame and rear shock on eBay...rear shock was same position as you (although only returned once to be fixed after it had come back from a service and immediately developed a fault). But basically sold the frame and shock before I'd had a chance to ride it and see if the fault would develop again.

Never listed the issue, but when met the person to hand over frame and get the cash, I explained the situation and gave all receipts and stuff to them and said any issues it's under warranty...

Thanks all, and a big thanks to Ruth at TF Tuned who has sorted the repairs, with cost comprising £27 for the part and £9 for return carriage. The carriage collection and all the service work was entirely FOC, so no cost for any of the fitting or technician’s time, which really is brilliant service, as usual.

Ironically it is going back on the bike as the new one I bought for quick holiday fix has a crack in the calliper post mount and will be heading back to supplier next week under warranty !
