[Closed] self extracting bolts are these right for xt.

with these.

If you really want self extracting bolts i would go for middleburn's as they are a bit tougher: my 'budget' alloy ones bent outwards removing the cranks. 🙁

don't touch that crap! I bought some and they bent out of shape the first time I tried to undo them. IMO "rusty" doesn't understand how they are supposed to work (or is playing dumb), and then claimed my returned bolt had been lost in the post (during the postal strike) to avoid making a refund 🙁 I have a photo of the damage somewhere.

as you can see, the threads parted when I undid the bolt - what you can't see is that the top of the cap bowed outwards under the pressure.

NB, mine was an 8mm bolt. The 15mm ones might work as the wider bolt would result in less bending moment.

no, I bought some from Chain Reaction for £6 which work fine - ideal for trackside repairs etc 🙂
