just got a new frame which takes a 31.6 seatpost, what size hope clamp should I be getting? they do 31.8 or 34.9
sorry for the silly question but I'm sure someone will be able to offer a quick and easy answer

The larger I fancy, unless your frame is made of coke cans.
What Hope make isn't really a guide, they might not do one in the size you need. It really depends on the frame design and material but I'd guess it was pretty safe to say that if you post is 31.6mm then you're going to need something bigger than 31.8! Best to contact the manufacture or fine someone with some calipers or the same frame.
yeah, I thought the smaller would be too small but also thought one of there standard sizes would fit as it's a fairly common post size.
My Nicolai has a 31.6mm seat post and uses a 34.9mm seat clamp.
Can you not check the old seat clamp?
it's a new frame, different size to the old one, but from what you said I guess 34.9 would do the job, thanks
What frame is it?
chumba hx1, swapping everything over from my Kona caldera, just the seatpost and clamp that has to change.
