Ok this is probably a dumb question, but i have a truvativ xr post, for 7mm rails i think, and just bought a new saddle that must be 8mm rails as it doesnt fit well. Whats to stop me just filing a bit of the clamp away to make it fit, seeing as there looks like loads of spare on there?

Post bum hole interface potential would stop me.
Can't you flip the clamp so it'll work with 7mm rails?

No dont think so, at least it doesnt look like it.

That'll be a new post or saddle then, can you take the saddle back?

No, i want the saddle, think it will have to be a new post, there arent that many that come in 30.0mm anyway, never mind 8mm rails.
