Just had delivery of the new cube 29er for Mrs Rockape and the seat post seems to stop at the first attachment hole for a water bottle holder. So can't drop it far enough......any thoughts guys? (apart from getting out a hacksaw)

Yes, very common - just get out the hacksaw if you need to lower the seat any more.

Either hacksaw, or shorter post. It's a regular problem now, i'm 5'11", and had a small bike through recently that had me at an ideal leg extension when the post was at it's lowest.
