Whats people's favourite best performing non-quick release seat collar? I'm currently looking at the Thomson or Hope. Colour dosen't matter as getting black.
TBH I don't think they are anywhere near as design critical as QR ones but I do have a lovely Thomson one ready for when I get a dropper post as it blends in nicely with a carbon frame and has an angled gap which is supposed to be better for your frame. I'd probably just get a Hope one if buying again as I like their designs.
I like the Salsa one's.
Have a boxful of them at home, all 34.9
The Thomson is not as elegant as I thought it would be it is shaped to enclose the bolt and obtrusive in a lookatmyseatclamp kindof way.
Hope - pure Marmite.
Deity - curiously well made and suits FR/DH bikes.
Nukeproof - not too bad at all.
Chromag - school metalwork project.
The best one is Superstar's Balance seatclamp - functionally superb and very discrete.
I genuinely don't think it's worth buying anything other than a KCNC SC11

It's no heavier than a clamp needs to be, is well priced, looks good (the bolt is likely to be gold rather than the silver shown) and does its clamping job no worse than anything else available IMO (how could it?)
