Does anyone know if the Fox SKF or RS seals will fit 32mm Magura forks?
I've been pretty unimpressed with the performance of the seals, as they seem to migrate crap in over a few rides from new. These things tend to have quite standard dimensions, but I haven't found anywhere online that confirms it.
Any other info on oil fill type and volume would also be great as I want to start playing with tune, now they're leaving their warranty period - specifically reducing high speed compression. I think it's Magura Blood Type 2 as that's what the older forks used, but again Magura appear to suck at supporting after market info.
Any help gratefully received.
Don't see why those seals wouldn't fit - the 32mm enduro ones do.
i've used fox 32 seals with no problems.
Would need to know which fork you are using to help with oil, but the info is out there on the net.
Magura or pretty crap at backing up after sales in general, which is not helped by no real support in the uk.
Bloody shame, i've had a pair of menjas and 2 pairs of Thors, loved them. But get spares / servicing has always much hard than it should be.
Fair point on lacking model - they're TS8 150 Lift Select's!
Cheers for the seal advice.
Sort of OT .....
Ages ago I contacted Magura after some Vidar seals. What they sent me were Marzocchi seals. They fitted fine.
Years later I was after some for some Thors and was told to buy some Fox ones from TF Tuned.
I was also told that I should add more lubrication oil than stated in the manual. IIRC it was suggested I use 20cc rather than 7cc(?)
All was fine!
Contact Sussed Out Suspension (www.sussedoutsuspension.co.uk), fairly sure they will be able to help out with seals and tuning advice 🙂
Cheers Guys
Is the Magura service guy not still around?
He was very good when I dealt with him when I ran Thor's.
