Does anyone know what the record is for the SDW one way (alpine style)? Not that I'm going to come close to it, but trying to figure out what a realistic goal is. Last year a mate and I managed 11h30 with a big nav error, but trying to decide if a sub 10hr is achievable or if something like a 10h30 is more realistic.

Edit: too slow... I remember him saying that he was confident sub-7 could be done!
Thanks guys. Just what I needed for inspiration. Hadnt seen Leitch's blog before - will definitely be checking that out. Glad my locals in Cape Town appear to have shown him the appropriate hospitality.
