Following a post on the Wanted's I recieved am email from the above stating he had the item for sale on his site. Anyone purchased from him? Is the basic deal that he scours ebay/ the classifieds etc and buys up bits and sells them back for a mark up? Anyone got any feedback from dealing with him?

I'm pretty open to folk showing a bit of intiative, so if he has the bits at the right price, why not? But he managed to get himself blocked from here, so maybe a bit nieve or a bit snakey?;

Given this is STW any opinions welcome, but any real feedback more so.

I'll stand by this man.

He's one of the most enthusiastic kids kids you'll ever meet, mad keen on bikes. He's not dodgy or a scam, just a young guy using his initiative to make himself a few bob. One day he'll own a successful bike shop or distributor but he has to start somewhere. It seems he was blocked on here as he is seen as a trader (fair enough). If you think his prices are a bit steep (as per that thread above) then haggle.

He buys up full bikes and breaks them for parts. He's a great source of disk brake spares and suspension springs (amongst other things) as he has a good stock. I've used him numerous times to get those bits you forget about when building up a new bike, but then I do know him from back home so its an easy phone call away.

But anyway, I'll vouch for him but its your choice whether you do the deal as you could say I'm biased and I could be any tom dick or harry.

Cheers,

Tim

I met scout on an uplift day at triscombe seems like a sound guy. I haven't got anything off him (yet) but good on him for trying something new.

I've ridden with him around my local and he's a decent guy. His prices are a little steep but just get in there and haggle.

As above, he's expensive.

I have told him to take a hike a couple of times - I generally sell my stuff off quite cheaply, hopefully so someone gets a bargain, not so he can line his pockets while someone else pays top whack.

Bought an adapter from him, it didn't arrive, and I got a full refund instantly - so seems like a good bloke in my book, plus didn't think it was expensive.

i was looking for a replacement fox 15qr axle and he had one. He sent it the next business day and it arrived 2 days later - £15 + postage compared with £52 at mojo. It was pretty scuffed so it might be worth asking precisely what state the part is in before buying, if you're bothered. TBH I just wanted to be able to ride my bike again with the front wheel on lol

sounds very like another member of STW who is regularly the victim of witch hunts. Only takes 1 or 2 bad reports...
