Have no need whatsoever for this bike and don't use the bikes I have nearly enough.... but £5.5k off! Please talk me out of sticking this on the credit card and incurring the wrath of the Mrs Link

In all seriousness if you can't sell a £5.5k saving to the missus then you don't deserve it. I don't want one but that's a cracking price seemingly..

It's not a 5.5K saving. It's a 3.5K bicycle.

I'll say that again. It's a 3.5K bicycle.

If he can sell that he needs to be in sales and then he wouldn't have to ask.

Was 9k the RRP by any chance?
It's not really as good a discount as it describes. Nobody buys anything at RRP at least not at that sort of money.

Lol @ junky. Having separate bank accounts is a lesson will learnt.

I know it's an older bike, but full xtr di2 must be worth £2k alone. Several places selling it for £6k still. To be honest, I'd feel like a bit of a tit riding a bike with electronically adjustable suspension and full xtr. Think I'll smuggle in a new pace rc129 instead.

Westbrook are well known for huge end of season discounts, especially on scott and cannondale. They're good guys and I've bought a few bikes from them over the years, helps they're also my local 🙂

Nice bike indeed - I'd be tempted for the money. The only thing that would give me pause is the weight - 10.3kg, while certainly not portly is also no better than other XC bikes you can get for this sort of money. I'd have thought that you'd be pushing less than 10kg without too much difficulty here...

Oh, XTR DI2...mmmmm 🙂

Wasn't there another 10% discount code floating around too.
Quite a bike for the money, is all the Di2 kit removable?

Old model with child size wheels. No wonder it needs a hefty discount.

27.5 is "child size" now? Shit, better look for some 30.5" bikes.

The Spark is an out & out race bike - so just be aware of that. The rear suspension is not the most sophisticated, but it's seriously quick & I find the twin-loc useful

Buy if you want a high end FSXC race bike, but don't expect it to be the most cosseting ride!

£5.5k off? Just shows you how much it was overpriced to start with.

For the cash it's great but I'd have thought for that price (9k) it would be a lot lighter.

Take off the pedals and dropper on my ascr and it would be lighter, and it certainly didn't cost 9 k. It is however a more versatile bike I'd think.

But at that price I'd buy it in a flash if I didn't already have an xc bike

The £9k original price tag really does mane you wonder what the mark up is when they can knock off £5.5k!

I picked up a Cannondale habit black 2016 for a similar discount. Mine is under 10 kg with pedals on nicks with envy wheels.
I think I got the better deal.

No dropper and too many chainrings at either price...

@klunk that's a brake hose. The cables are internal.

Nothing like that, that's for sure. The new price will be Scott Switzerland cutting their throats and selling them for what it cost to assemble them, maybe even a loss.

Westbrooks won't have that sort of margin I can assure you!

Regardless of the original cost, what makes that a poor bike that no one wants? Its a 120mm 22lb race/trail bike with top of the range kit. I appreciate the new style Spark is perhaps better in some way, but how much so considering Nino won the World Champs on a very similar machine also with mid size wheels?

I bet it is a very nice bike, BUT how big is the market right now for a 27.5 XC race bike? In the ~2 years since that was launched 29ers seem to have been largely cemented as the wheel size of choice (for XC), rather than die a slow death as some predicted. I would be interested in the 29er version at that price.

If I had £3k to spend on a bike I'd be seriously considering it for the type of riding I do.

I can't see much else hitting that weight and sophistication (I'd add a dropper) for the current price, regardless of what it originally was sold for.

Me too, but Scott pricing vs oem kit seems to be way above others level. A current spark 910 would be ideal, but thats nearly £4k.
