Still looking for a racy 29er and was wondering if anyone has the 29er version of the scott spark and how it rides? I notice a new fox rear shock out this year, is this better than the older nude shock?

The other option is an anthem 29er with a few upgrades.

Yep, I have a 2012 Spark 920. Can't comment on the other shock as only ridden mine. I'm a 14stone fun/open/sport cat xc'er and I love it! I had a Spark on demo and on local tester climbs- I was no faster on it. In fact, off road I was a lot quicker on this. I noticed once or twice last year that other folk were stuggling to get the power down and I was able to just sit in and spin and let the shock do the work. I use the lock out intuitively now and find it really does transform the bike- not just a gimmick. I'm not talented enough to give you a proper appraisal but I'll try and answer any questions ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers. Roughly how much is the weight of the bike and in lockout, is it fully locked out so you can climb out of the saddle.

Its a 920 I was looking at as well.

Oh yes- it locks solid when locked although obviously the forks can still blow through if they need to (actual technical description may vary ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). I've only ever weighed it on bathroom scales with tool pack, pump and water bottle so a)not very accurate and b)not a fair number even if it is right. Mines also a Large. But that was 13.5kg.
I road ride mine alot as I've got a thing about training on the actual bike your going to ride and its bloody quick when locked out- very very responsive to out of the saddle efforts.
