[Closed] Scott Scale: How to make more comfortable for the missus?

[#1667285]

So I have a few years old Scott Scale (that's not going to see much use this year).

It's a perfect size for mrs deadly to use but she's complained about it being too stretchy. To be fair, I find it a bit stretchy myself as it's got a long stem (OEM) and flat bars for "racing" on the cheap.

So how do I make it more comfortable for her to ride?

Is it just a case of a shorter stem and riser bars (without going into too much detail on the geometry)? We're just looking for a quick fix.

Cheers ๐Ÿ™‚

Shorter stem and risers will help, if it's a 100mm stem go to a 80mm and get some risers with reasonable sweep and that'll probably be enough. Also don't forget to get a comfy (i.e. ladies) saddle too as women tend to find men's saddles uncomfortable and because their pelvic bones are different it does actually affect their position on the bike.

Straight line seat post or lay-back? Swap lay-back for straight if saddle position can not be corrected for knee over pedal axle at 6 o'clock with ball of foot on pedal
