Does anyone run a Scale with a clamp on front mech?

Just want to know if its possible and if anyone has done it

i think you need a custom clamp and roadie front mech. try weightweenies or mtbr forums, there are posts on those forums with more details.

no! etype top pull only, seat tube will crack with a clamp on, thats what scott told me when i asked about mine, pain in the bum cos you have to take cranks and bb out to fit, can get an xt one though not a total rip

Thanks Khani, that answers my question. Not what I wanted to hear but worth knowing. I was hoping to be able to fit a 46 tooth 952 XTR crankset, which requires a tube mount mech.

Several people running them on the MTBR weight weenie forum. See Nino's winter bike thread for details of his set up.
Scott are just covering their arses, if the frame can't handle derailleur actuation and (the minor)clamping forces, then it wouldn't be able to be ridden off road.

etypes also stop any chainsuck damage, if the chain drops off it will go between the plate and the rings and not on the carbon bb shell to chew it up
