Hi peeps
Hoping any one can help,
4 of us are doing the scottish c2c in Aipril, we are doinging it on our own, camping, no support, rather than drive up to montrose, drop a car off, drive across to skye (putting that loop in as well) riding back then driving back to skye to pick the other car up then home, does anyone know a way to get from montrose to sky with bikes, train will cost £170 but the bikes are an issue and can only get us as far as fort bill so still about 70 miles off,any ideas on to save 10 ours extra driving,
any imput would be cool,
Gareth
You can get a train from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh or from Fort William to Mallaig. Both get you a lot nearer to Skye. However, for 4 people, it will almost certainly work out cheaper to do the 2 car thing.
what's your route once you get back onto the mainland?
towards Corran, newtown, fort agustus, fodderletter, montrose, i think its the woodcock route with skye added at the start
Drop me a line if you like and we can try and help.
>i think its the woodcock route<
Didnt realise we had 'a' route - isn't that a Lakes thang?
im not the route planner, it might not be woodcock, hes the guy that ripped the english c2c on Wainwrights walks, think he might have done this one himself,
lakes yeh sent 1000s of bikes over black sail pass, divvie
cheers andy i might give you a shout
