So what happened, was it the bolt on dropouts that killed it? I rode one that creaked when it braked, that was sent back pronto.

I love my 26 er which had proper dropouts

Never had any problem with the swapouts nor heard of any issues 😕

Thought onone just dropped it to focus on the carbon hardtails and because they'd released the Parkwood

I thought it was because they all cracked and died!

I loved my 29er Scandal, gutted I sold it. What's the alternatives at the moment for a light 29er for XC?

FF29?

They probably make more money from the carbon frame

Shhhh, I'm just getting the feel for my scandal 29. Dropouts are fine, been running a c456 for a few years, same system, no problems here.
FF29?
like the look of those too.

29er scandal, really good frame for the money, what else is out there? Nothing so why did they stop?

I love my 26er Scandal. Superb bike in very way. I think the frame cost me £125 new on sale.

I think the carbon one was just too close competition, with the inbred in the range as well. I'd have the metal one tbh after my last experience with on one carbon, but carbon does have its own draw.

I wonder what the profit margins were/are on each of the 3 models.
