Hi guys. Probably a silly question but I want to check before I make an expensive mistake.

I have an old Sub 5 and most of the kit on it I'm thinking of transferring to a On One Scandal frame. Most will fit - a new BB and Headset I think all I need.

Main concern though is the forks. I have FLoat Rs. The Sub 5 has a 120 length Headtube and Scandal a 105. Both 1 1/8 I think. I'm presuming the forks will fit but might be a bit long. If so I presume I can just cut down to size, but want to check before making a potential costly mistake.

Cheers

No need to cut the steerer...Just add headset spacers above or below the stem

+1 add more spacers and ride for a while. Once you know how high you want your stem THEN you can cut down the steerer by enough to still fit your stem/spacer stack

Your BB should be fine too. Also check you have a low mount front derailleur as the high mount ones cover the bottle cage mounts. Seapost size is the other thing to check at 31.6.

As above, forks and bottom bracket will both be fine.

Good point about the seatpost, also front mech band diameter (although spacers can be had) and seatpost clamp too will need checking.

The latest Scandal has a tapered steerer tube, but a headset can be bought from on-one that will accept a straight 1 1/8" steerer

The seatpost size on my Scandal 26" is 27.2, not 31.6 as robbo says, maybe that's for a 29"?
I built mine with a 2004 100mm Float RL, and it rides really well.
