Has anyone used this £40 bearing kit from an ebay seller?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YETI-SB66-FRAME-BUSHES-FRAME-BEARINGS-TOP-QUALITY-MTB-BEARINGS-/111373458363?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item19ee601bbb

Is it any good and will it fit the carbon frame?

You'll get a set of bearings from Kaesae on ebay for around 70 quid, he's a little eccentric (but all the best people are) but his bearings are very good.

Edit - his ebay shop is called Katec bearings, just message him, he may want bearing numbers which is pretty straighforward on Yeti site.

Go to Yetifan.com and try there.

UK and US store. Uk store run by Andrew (I think) and has all the vital bits and delivers quick. A good guy to boot.

I think the alloy and Carbon bearings are different, so make sure you click the right button.

I got some from that ebay seller for my alloy SB66, not had any complaints about 8 months on.

Thanks 'Nobeerinthefridge' I emailed KaTec. £139 seems a tad steep.

My top tip - Do not let a hose near the switch link, ever, and get rid of the two O seals from inside it, they just hold water and are only to stop dust ingress. Which is fine in Colorado, perhaps not the West of Scotland!.

Hi Nobeerinthefridge, I am careful with where I aim the hose when washing it down and also have a mud guard on the back of the seat tube made from an inner tube which keeps mud off the switch. This has been very successful for the drive side bearing but the left side doesn't get quite as much protection because it sits further out. My next plan is to make a skirt from inner tube fixed at the top which will cover the top and sides of the switch. I am in the NE of Scotland near Aberdeen and it has been subjected to 18 months in all conditions, mostly muddy. My Orange 5 bearings lasted 5 years in the same conditions so I'm a little disapointed in the reliability of the Yeti.

My tip, when you get new bearings, pull the seals & pack some more grease in there.
They don't have to move far, so more is better.
