£8 for some brake cables and a metre of outer cable.
30 minutes messing.
Result; smooth braking with minimal resistance.

Mmmmm. Satisfaction.

Any other little bicycle jobs that give you a warm glow?

Neglecting to pump the road bike tires up for a few weeks. Then inflating them to 100psi and instantly feeling quicker.

1xAluminium hoop,32xsteel spokes,1xhub +tea,a spoke key and a modicum of skill =a very strong,very light,perfectly round wheel.
Its like knitting for blokes...i find it very soothing,as long as I don't get interrupted which makes me 👿

^ What Rorschach said. Even just truing up a wobble is satisfying.

Fitted a set of gore ride-on gear cables last weekend on my road bike. Result is blissfully slick gearing now 😀

Spent a pleasant half hour last weekend replacing the rear cassette on my commuter and then resetting the rear gears. Simple job, no rush to do it so took my time, it all went smoothly, and so do my rear gears.

Felt smug riding in on Monday

Neglected my bike for a little while due to other commitments, now totally back into biking.

Decided to strip my bike:

New grease, new cosmetic parts (Some bought from the classifieds), new drive train.

Fresh and satisfying:
