...erm, I guess an apology is due? I had intended to add the pickies an hour or two after I posted the original on the topic.....forgot all about it ๐Ÿ™„

Sorry peeps.

Ok, for an awesome fix get yourself to local hardware store, by six 8mm X 40mm pan head and same # of 8mm wingnuts. Screw the wingnut on upside down (ergonomically similar profile to original, be patient) and lock in place with superglue and back to back 8mm nuts for added hyper torque.

File off the end of each bolt to match the saris tooth profile, mould the SUGRU...wait until it sets and bingo ๐Ÿ˜† Proper steel on steel thread that provides the power I think we all expected from the original?

EDIT: The crapy thin standard nut can easily be 'drifted out' and a nice new 8mm will slip in just perfect like ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy days, in fact the replacement nut is a better fit.
