after my last frame died my LBS is selling a SC nickel frame quite cheap and it got me thinking ! I know its 7 lb in weight but for the money it's good !( £800) are they quite bomb proof ? I normally ride steel hardtails and they are not that light ! I'm more into the downs than up 🙂

cheers

Rich

I have a Butcher can't praise it enough climbs really well a fantastic trail bike a friend of mine has the Nickel and he also rates it highly,
we both had Orange 5's and both feel the SantaCruz are better bikes, just more bearings . 😀
I bought the Butcher to try my hand at some DH Enduro type races but its not happened and probably won't , half considering selling it and maybe building up a hardtail 29er more suited to my normal riding.

The Butcher weighs in at 30.55lb on my LBS scales so not too heavy mine has 36's upfront... 😀 I think you could easily get a Nickel around 28lb.
