[#2377921]

Was wondering what stem length I could get away with on a Sanderson Life. I'm 6'1" and currently run an 80mm on my 19" kona. It was recommended I get an 18" frame and run nothing longer than a 70mm to appreciate the handling of the bike. any thoughts - does anyone run longer stems and how's the performance?

I've got a 70mm on a 16" frame and I'm 5'10". Sandersons have long top tubes. I've not used any other length on mine but it feels perfect to me.

I'm 6ft1 with an 18" Life - a 70mm stem and low riser bar (Raceface Deus) feels perfect.

Lovely bike with the best finish I've seen on a frame. Barely ridden my Superlight since buying it. That said, I don't think the top tube is that long when compared to Inbreds, Airborne Lancasters (my previous bikes) etc. Enjoy!

I've an 18" life, 110mm stem, TBH its too long, going to swap it for a 90mm sometime soon.

Handling is good though, cant fault it.

hmnnn...I'll try my 80 first.

rp16v - I'm also led to believe more weight over the front wheel does the trick for climbs...

...bear in mind the soloist has a slightly shorter (by an inch?) top tube than the life and breath.

6ft (near enough)

I'm tempted to try a 680-700mm flat bar as well to play aroud with it a bit.

I'm not sure why but I get on with really narrow bars and long stems/bikes*, but so far** I've not found the sweet spot for the sanderson for XC.

*the 456 has a 780mm bar and 50mm stem, but thats a different kettle of fish.

** I've only tried 110mmx6deg / 680mm low-risers so far, not a reflection on the frame, that's ace.

I'm 6ft and had an 18" life frame. Ran an 80mm stem after trying a 100 and it was bang on.
