45 km of dry trails and great views ,sold out but there will be 50 entries on the day all money goes to a great cause!
Riding a Singular Puffin 12.30 start
I'm in again this year, but this time with the kids!!!
It's gonna be a long afternoon, even on the short course.
11.55 start for us, if we're back for when the seals start playing, I'll be happy!!
Hope to get in on the day entry.
Just doing the short course as not feeling up to the longer one as been off the bike for 2 months.
What time do I need to arrive do you think for one of the 50places ?
10am first come first served
Yep - we are there. Any event that ends in a beer tent outside a brewery works for me. It was great fun last year so hopefully more of the same*.

Yep, I'm in with a 12 O'clock start.
Anyone else might be a tad moist Saturday ๐
Looks like its going to be rain free ๐
I hope so rich, we've never had a wet one yet, and I don't want tommorow to be the first. A little cloud cover to keep the temps down a bit would be perfect.
The suns always out in kentmere isn't it??:-) looking forward to another great day. First time for my lad this year so stocked up on sweets to keep him going.
Great event again, with perfect weather conditions. Loved seeing all the kids out on course as well. Good effort to all.
Great beers and bands afterwards all topped off by winning TWO raffle prizes ๐
Trails were running spot on and it was a puncture fest on the descents ๐ I fell foul twice one sealed but the second slashed the tyre and received a covering of Stans!

No it's not. Last time I was in Kentmere I thought I was going to die of hypothermia ๐
You bought the pic then rich?
We got round the short course in 3 hours 58 mins, which is a great time considering our 7 year old was on 20" wheels!
The longest ride our two boys have done, and they enjoyed every minute.
A few pilocks passing without notice, nearly causing accidents, but mostly everyone was very supportive of the kids having a go.
samcamsdad I passed a dad and a lad going along the longsleddal valley and the dad moved over and nearly had an off as he was in a track rut I was very apologetic ๐
boxelder photoshopped the watermark out ๐
Not us rich, think you passed us at the bottom of the longsledale descent. And there was four of us, the two boys, my wife and myself. Kids were were wearing Preston football kits with our name on the back.
Well my wife broke her ankle just after the first check point so job was buggered after that, my lad really enjoyed the riding that he did get in though. Hes keen to do it again without mum slowing him down he said.
At least he's got a years worth of training time now! He'll be up for the win next time around.
I did my first Sam Houghton yesterday and really enjoyed it! Legs were done by the end but was really chuffed with my time. Great event put on and good beer and banter afterwards too!
Sorry to hear about your wife's ankle, hope she makes a speedy recovery! Is that what the ambulance and mountain rescue were out for?
No we got ourselves off the hill, the air ambulance was for a guy with head injuries on top of stile end, hes ok and back home now though.
samscamsdad! Take it these are your boyz next to the two big kids

Aye that's them, with my dad to the left, ( the bloke with the starting hooter). Me and my wife are behind the two blokes on the right.
Oh and I recognise the speedy youth in blue, behind my boys.
If you look closely the gentleman next to yours lads in the lurid fluro top has an Enduro specific bicycle bell fitted to facilitate safe and polite passing.
