I am in need of some new presription safety glasses as was wondering if i could get away with some Oakley Five Squared with clear lenses which icould use at work and on bike.
Or how about some Julbo sunglasses with the Zebra Lite lenses that go from clear to tinted? Covered on all bases then 🙂
(Planning on getting some myself).
Have seen these Oakleys and hope to claim back from work

Those Julbos look nice, but no prescription lens option that I can see? Just RX inserts. OK if you're after inserts I guess.
Have you tried a pair of the Oakleys on, to see what sort of coverage they give you? I think most Vision Express stores do Oakley, might be worth trying to throw a pair on...
Edit: Think those 5s you linked to are RX inserts too? Is weight an issue for you? Personally I think it's worth paying a little extra for prescription lenses.
That was my thought, Try on in high street opticians for coverage.
If you don't want to wear 2 pairs of lenses at the same time, I got my Oakleys from here - cheapest I could find with Oakley lenses. Another £90 though, would work stretch to that?

Do the frames and lenses meet the required safety standard? EN166 for the frames and EN166 or some others for the lenses. If not you can't use them as safety glasses.
Well you can obviously, but your boss would get prosecuted if you got injured while using them as such.
Organdonor. Did you have them with clear lenses. I can always pay the extra if work question. Do you recommend
I got mine with brown transition lenses. They go 95% clear and darken to a max of 20% (I think). Absolutely fantastic for riding in, you can get ones that go darker, but then they don't go as clear. People have said that I look a bit 'special' if I wear them indoors, but hey, I am special 😀
Definitely would recommend them over RX inserts, that I found heavy and lacking in peripheral vision.
As said above though, safety standards may be an issue for you.
