I thought I’d seen a post recently about a change in law re safe passing distance for cyclists, google only throws up a change for Ireland.

so am I making it up?

That's not a change in the law. What's changed is that the existing law is now being enforced.

I have recently bought an ICE recumbent trike.

The amount of passing space given to me when riding the trike is a massive surprise.

I gets loads of room , as much as if I was being passed in my car. Motorists slow down, give a lot of space and even wave in a friendly manner to me.
