I a'm looking at buying a new saddle or my bike and having ridden for many years usually buy a sell italia flite shaped one, but in the last few years, well quite a long time actually, more and more saddles have been marketed with a hole in the middle of them, reputedly to save pressure on your errr mens important bits, lol, you know what I mean. Is there any published evidence proving that such saddles help with such things?

From memory erectile problems in cyclists comes from roadies doing uber miles and miles but that might be an urban myth... Even so i am all for protecting my family allowance even if as a mountain biker we move around more .. Although I might end up replacing the commuter bike saddle too!

Yes, no, maybe. Like all saddles it's personal. Some get on with them, some don't - only one way to find out...

If you've never got of the saddle and felt a sudden unusual sense of pressure being released from the soft bit between your c0*k and @$$ then you probably don't need a pressure relieving cut out!

I did, and now use a selle italia with a cut out and am MUCH more comfortable.

I've gone through numerous saddles trying to fix problems down below.

I've now settled on this ugly beast

Saddles are a personal thing though, you either have to get lucky, try loads, or try and get some professional fitting.

I like them. I think most / all specialized BG ones have a cutout so there might be something in it (no I didnt mean...)

There used to be a video on the spesh website of Specialized demoing their BG saddles by measuring penile blood flow on a volunteer on a normal and cut-out saddle. The blood flow was quite restricted on the normal one.

I do find my Charge spoon rather comfortable, it's got a 'love groove' down the middle and have never noticed any discomfort even after 10 hours in the saddle

Just don't catch a bollock in the groove when you have an 'off'

The groove also allows a nice bit of ventilation for your wedding tackle ๐Ÿ˜€

As you mentioned Selle Italia, I use the girlie version of this:

Have put it on all my bikes. I like the minimalist style and flex.
